Services:

Swedish -
Typically called the “classic massage”.  Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage called effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), vibration/rocking and friction (cross fiber). The five styles of strokes when combined, helps to improve circulation, reduce pain and joint stiffness.

Deep Tissue -
designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. Deep tissue work varies greatly. This can include Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy and Muscle Energy Techniques.

Integrative Massage -
Incorporates broad fluid strokes, breath work, and open communication with clients to support their overall health. Originally based on the body-centered, psychotherapeutic work of Wilhelm Reich, it includes an emphasis on three principles: mindfulness, embodiment and holism. It was developed at Boulder College of Massage Therapy in Colorado over 20 years ago.

Hot Stone Massage -
Water-heated stones are used to apply pressure and heat to the body. Stones coated in oil are used during massage delivering various massaging strokes. The stones that are used are Basalt stones which over time, have become extremely polished and smooth. As the stones are placed along the recipient's back, they help to retain heat which then deeply penetrates into the muscles, releasing tension.
